Most of these have hierarchy problems, unnecessary use of textures and graphics, this list is a good source for design intoxication, some of them looks like built over very popular tutorials on the web which looks very banal.
Some of the ones that give the visitors what they want to see is Sid Lee & Just Dot. You know what I mean, the point is let’s see the work first and then give us some info about what you eat, what’s your twitter or your recommended books and stuff.
Portfolio sites should be separate from personal blogs.

A very interesting list, indeed. It was a stimulating experience going through all those beautiful (and not-so-beautiful) portfolios. The list, I’m not ashamed to say, is brimming with ideas that will be used in many future portfolios.

I love the smooth, simple designs. Black backgrounds are hard to pull off, but some of the above do them well. I like Sid’s large image and side nav.

Nice Variety of Designs! Great way to get ideas for new projects. I often see designers get stuck in a rut with a single design they really like and then pound it into the ground.
